For a Birder like me, all I need a pair of binoculars and a place to bird. I have this dream to go birding all over the Country and try to see as many as birds at a stretch - hitchhiking. Work here and there, three to five month on road. But this will take some time, I have to prepare properly. From Kanha to Pench form there to Nalsarovar near Ahmadabad, Velavadar.

Which tripod for the 600mm FL. I use a old Gitzo 1548 for my 600mm FL. But new and lighter options are now available. My 1548 folded is just under 23. But its big and rock solid. Wont topple in a breeze and has good vibration damping. My worst case, weight of equipment to be mounted on the tripod, would be under 10- 15 Kgs.

Thursday, May 16, 2013. The little stream continued to battle with the Andaman Sea. High tide pushed water into the stream every time a big jolly wave lashed at the shore. A meander up and down the lanes and bylanes that map my world. And so Malini has joined college! Symbiosis University once again - and our love affair with Pune continues! I am handling it better this time since several of the earlier anxieties are behind us, with regard to the hostel and the college. She joined the Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts. The course sounds exciting! Of course there were and are moments of worry and frustration. In Montessori, much as she liked to sing, she refus.
